Information we collect

Depending on how you use the website, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number and enquiry; billing and delivery details, order details and customer remarks; payment status and transaction references supplied by our payment providers; information included in publishing, rights, trade or media enquiries; technical information needed to operate and protect the website and shopping basket; and correspondence needed to manage an order, return, complaint or contractual relationship.

Payment-card and payment-account details are processed directly by the selected payment provider. Please do not send a complete manuscript, confidential source material or sensitive personal information unless we have asked for it and agreed an appropriate transfer method.

How and why we use information

We use personal information to respond to enquiries; decide whether to request further publishing material; take payment and fulfil orders; provide digital content; arrange delivery and returns; administer rights, trade, media and author relationships; keep financial, contractual and business records; maintain security; and establish or defend legal claims where necessary.

Our principal lawful bases are performance of a contract or steps requested before entering a contract, compliance with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating and securing a publishing business. Where the law requires consent, we ask for it separately.

We do not currently use the website to send marketing newsletters. Google Analytics and custom tracking code are not enabled.

Who receives information

Service providers may include Webador for hosting and the online store; Stripe and PayPal for payment services; postal and delivery providers; professional advisers and technology support; and courts, regulators or authorities where disclosure is required or permitted by law. We do not sell personal information.

Some providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this occurs, we rely on the provider's applicable data-protection safeguards and contractual arrangements.

How long we keep information

Order, accounting and contractual records are retained for the period required by applicable legal, tax and reporting obligations. Enquiries are reviewed periodically and deleted or anonymised when no longer needed, unless the sender asks for earlier deletion or a legal reason requires longer retention.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.

To exercise a right or ask a privacy question, email info@intellectverseglobal.org. We may need to verify your identity. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
